Introduction

Vasavad admittedly a small town of Kathiawar in Sawrastra province of India never legged behind than other big Memon Communities in socio Political field.

This town produced adventurous businessmen who expended their commercial activities up to "BURMA" AFRICA, CEYLON and Portuguese before Pakistan.

The First Memon barrister Mr. ABDUL SATTAR S/0 WALI MOHAMMED also belonged to Vasavad. His memorable service in awakening the Memon Biradari from deep slumber in the freedom movement is highly appreciated even today.

After partition Vasavadis also migrated to Pakistan. In both wings of the country i.e. east and west Pakistan, they establish Jute mills factories, Oil industries, Biscuits, Silk and Textiles mills and so on.

After fall of Dacca this community had suffered a lot in financially. But it never gives up their hopes and again re-established itself in another commercial field.

For joint social works this community establish an association under the title of "VASAVAD MEMON ANJUMAN" on the 14th October 1951. About more than 50 years have passed to it.

This community had assisted innumerable needy people by way of monthly aid, education aid, medical aid, medical and marriage aid etc.

In late seventies it has built dispensary, and Multi storied building in Nayabad, Lyari for the needy people and allocated them flats, in this multi storied building a hall also built called "AL Jillani Hall" which were used for social and marriage ceremonies in the area people.

It has also built a mile stone project on University Road names "VASAVAD GARDEN" this multi million project is a big achievement for our Anjuman.

Through Vasavad Memon Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd. Has acquired 40 acers of land in Sch no: 33, Gulishtan-e-Hijri. Where different development activities are under way.

It has acquired graveyard land in Mewashah Moach Goth and also in Sch. No. 33 from Government agencies. Besides this it has acquired graveyard land from private parties as well.

It has a well furnish and beautiful Office in the heart of city area called Jodia Bazar where Anju man’s head office situated, which is centrally located place and surrounded by its in habitants of the native town Vasavad called Vasavadis in Jodia Bazar's head office our Anjuman also have a computer centre called Vasavad Computer Centre which provide the IT education to the area and community people.

Vasavadis are scattered in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan but mostly are leaving in Karachi but their main leaving pocket, are old city. Garden, Federal-'B' Area -Adamji Nagar, Defense etc. This Community is connected with "The All-Pakistan Memon Federation" from fifties and has contributed well in the progress of federation.

It always supports the positive activities of A.P.M.F. It also supports the patriotic activities of the country by taking part in National Sports, functions, positive political and commercial activities. We as a community pledge to continue our assistance in all constructive activities, which may lead this Pakistan Nation and Memon Baradari to its climax.
